THE PART YOU DON’T SEE MATTERS, TOO

Think beyond the surface.

01

Understand the existing roof

Condition, layers, decking, access and flashing help determine whether a repair or a replacement makes sense.

02

Compare the whole system

Underlayment, flashing, ventilation and installation details belong beside the visible material in the proposal.

03

Plan solar in context

Sun exposure, shade, roof geometry, electricity use and utility requirements shape the energy discussion.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

A few good questions.

Does every roof need to be replaced?

No. Start with an inspection. A localized problem may call for a repair, while widespread deterioration can require a broader scope. Online inspiration is not a roof-condition assessment.

How is a solar roof different from rooftop panels?

Solar shingles form part of the roof covering. Conventional panels are typically mounted above a separate roof. Compare the complete roofing and energy scope for your home.

What changes the final price?

Roof area and pitch, removal, access, material choice, decking repairs, flashing and any electrical or solar work. A written proposal should state quantities, allowances and exclusions.

Is a metal roof automatically a cool roof?

Reflectance depends on the specific product and finish. Evaluate rated products and the full roof assembly for your location. Read ENERGY STAR’s cool-roof guidance.

02 / BETTER KITCHENS

Made for living.
And a little lingering.

Plan an Inland Empire kitchen remodel around the way you live. Compare cabinet fronts and countertops, explore a preliminary range, and bring your choices into one inquiry.

YOUR KITCHEN, STEP BY STEP

See the possibilities.
Make it yours.

Start with your home and what you want to change. Then compare cabinet fronts and countertops on the same illustrative kitchen.

See a preliminary installed project range before sending your choices. Final measurements, product suitability and pricing are confirmed in person.

SCOPE, MATERIALS & THE NEXT STEP

A kitchen plan
with the details in view.

01

Choose the scope

A finish refresh and a broader kitchen remodel involve different work. Tell us whether you intend to keep the layout. Wall changes and utility moves need a site review before pricing.

02

Compare the materials

Explore IKEA AXSTAD matte-white or ASKERSUND light-ash-effect cabinet fronts, paired with EKBACKEN concrete-effect or SÄLJAN stone-effect laminate countertops.

03

Keep the plan together

Your cabinet, countertop, scope, displayed price range and payment preference accompany the inquiry. A contractor confirms measurements, product suitability and the written project scope.

Manufacturer examples do not imply a partnership or installer certification. Availability, physical samples and required components need confirmation.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Kitchen planning questions.

Are the kitchen previews pictures of my home?

No. The combination previews are AI-generated illustrations of the same example kitchen. Actual product views show manufacturer photography. These are not completed Better Pad projects or verified installations of the selected products.

Are the countertop choices real stone or concrete?

The current EKBACKEN and SÄLJAN examples are laminate with concrete-effect and stone-effect finishes. They are not concrete, quartz or natural stone. ASKERSUND’s light-ash effect is a finish, not solid ash wood.

Is the displayed cabinet price my installed kitchen cost?

No. Manufacturer retail references describe the specific component and size shown. A door is not a complete cabinet, and the door examples have different dimensions. Installation, demolition, other materials and trade work need a project scope.

Is the preliminary project range a quote?

No. The planner identifies whether its range comes from an existing Better Pad project allowance or a published local benchmark. A benchmark is not a market median or an approved Better Pad quote. Final measurements, inclusions, exclusions and pricing are confirmed in writing after a site review.

What if I want to change the kitchen layout?

Choose “Change the layout” or “Help me decide.” The planner leaves the project range open for review instead of assuming the cost of walls, plumbing, electrical work or permits.

Do I need to choose financing before sending an inquiry?

No. You can pay directly, record an interest in financing or ask to compare options. A planning preference is not a credit application, lender offer or approval.

Your preliminary range.

YOUR PRELIMINARY PROJECT RANGE

Final pricing follows an in-person assessment and written proposal from your contractor. This range is not a binding offer; product upgrades or site conditions can change it.

FINALIZED IN PERSON

A clear next step.

Bring your selection and range to your home visit. Your contractor verifies the roof measurements, existing layers, decking, access and chosen materials, then confirms the final scope and price in writing.

What’s included in this preliminary range?

Better Pad’s planning ranges reflect a higher-end position informed by Southern California roofing research. They are selected planning allowances, not competitor medians or confirmed supplier quotes.

For a straightforward replacement, the allowance covers ordinary removal and disposal, roof materials, labor, underlayment and standard flashing. Permits and all included work are confirmed in the final proposal.

  • Extra layers, damaged decking, structural work, difficult access, steep or complex roofs, special code/HOA requirements and solar removal or reinstallation need individual review.
  • New concrete tile is a different scope from lifting and relaying existing tiles.
  • Premium Landmark® TL specifications and actual product pricing require confirmation; the shingle range covers the broader category.
  • Corrugated steel uses exposed fasteners; standing seam is a separate roof system and price range.
  • Solar shingles require a roof and energy-system design, so a custom quote follows the visit.

Research reviewed October 16, 2026. Roof surface area is required for a total; the map and Google solar data do not supply a roofing measurement.

02 / WAYS TO PAY

How would you like to pay?

Pay directly, compare personal-loan marketplaces, or explore contractor financing. The providers below are being evaluated; financing through Better Pad is not active yet.

Provider information is a reference, not a credit offer or approval. Rates, fees and repayment periods depend on the specific lender and written offer. No credit application is submitted here.

Compare a written financing offer Optional

03 / COMPARE A WRITTEN OFFER

What would it cost over time?

Enter the interest rate and repayment period from an offer to compare borrowing with paying directly. Keep the full project cost in view.

This is an example budget, not a confirmed project price.

The amount you plan to pay yourself; this is not a contractor deposit.

Use the fixed interest rate, not a fee-inclusive APR. No rate is assumed.

120 months is 10 years. Use the term in the written offer.

Calculation assumes fixed monthly payments and $0 fees. Upfront or financed fees, deferred-interest promotions and variable-rate credit need a separate comparison. This calculator does not determine eligibility.

Text-message terms

Better Pad inquiry texts cover your requested project, follow-up questions and appointment scheduling. Opting in is optional; you can send an inquiry and receive email follow-up without it. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. You may also contact contact@thebetterpad.com. Opting out of texts does not cancel your project inquiry. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Privacy & inquiries

Typing four or more characters in an address field sends that text through Better Pad’s server to Google Maps for address suggestions. Selecting your address fills in the address and available ZIP for this inquiry. Suggestion lists and Places response data are not stored. Choosing Find my home sends the address to Google Maps for matching and map display. Choosing Check solar potential sends the matched location to Google’s Solar API for energy feasibility information. Choosing Check local weather sends the matched location to the National Weather Service. If energy estimates are enabled, choosing Compare this improvement sends the displayed home address and selected equipment information to Rewiring America after your confirmation. Choosing Find local programs sends only the matched ZIP code to Rewiring America. When project saving is connected, Better Pad saves the address and ZIP you enter, your selected roof and kitchen preferences, project needs and timing, notes, budget inputs and financing interests as a draft inquiry. Saving starts when you search an address or commit a project choice; browsing or previewing a product alone does not create an inquiry. A secure browser cookie connects this browser to your saved project so you can return to it. Better Pad saves dated summaries of requested Rewiring America energy estimates and incentive programs, plus local weather checks, under this inquiry. These are planning records, not verified savings, eligibility decisions or current weather guarantees. Google solar summaries are retained for up to 29 days and then removed automatically; they are not copied into permanent submission history. Google map imagery, coordinates, location tokens and private API credentials are not copied into the inquiry. When you send the inquiry, the saved energy, incentive and weather summaries are preserved with your submitted product, price range and financing preferences. The separate search service also keeps daily request totals. The result status tells you whether each check was saved. The saving status tells you whether your latest choices reached Better Pad. If saving is unavailable, your current choices remain available on this page for planning, but are not confirmed as saved. Starting a new inquiry disconnects this browser from the old one; it does not delete a previously saved record. For help accessing or deleting an inquiry, contact Better Pad. Hosting and Google may process request metadata under their policies. Opening the Google Maps link sends the address to Google in a new tab. The project planner does not automatically submit your name, email or phone number. Choosing Send inquiry after reviewing your plan and confirming follow-up sends those contact details and the reviewed plan to Better Pad for a project response. This does not apply for credit or authorize promotional messages. If you enter a mobile number and separately choose text messages, we save the number, the exact consent wording and the time with your submitted inquiry. Better Pad may use GoHighLevel to manage your inquiry and send those requested texts. We do not share mobile opt-in information with third parties for their own marketing. Choosing email passes the displayed plan to your email app; you choose whether to send. Your email provider handles that message under its own policies. Avoid including sensitive financial or identity documents. By using Google Maps features, you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms; the Google Privacy Policy also applies. Solar results are preliminary energy-planning information, not roofing measurements, damage assessments, engineering advice, warranties or quotes. For questions, email contact@thebetterpad.com.

YOUR INQUIRY / WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

A clear path
from here.

Review the steps from first conversation to a project ready to start.

  1. 01 / REVIEW

    Talk through your project.

We review your inquiry and confirm the property, your priorities and the product you have in mind.

  2. 02 / CONFIRM

Measure. Visit. Put it in writing.

Your contractor checks the property and project in person and confirms the scope, final price, required signatures and payment plan.

  3. 03 / PREPARE

Permits, materials, then a start date.

Confirm the permitting authority and required approvals. Your contractor coordinates the permit, materials and crew before confirming a start date.

Permit review time is one part of getting started. A published agency target is not an installation date.

INLAND EMPIRE / LOCAL ROOFING GUIDE

Know your city.
Plan the next step.

Roofing permit routes for every city in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, plus unincorporated areas.

Confirm the parcel’s jurisdiction before applying: a mailing city or ZIP does not always identify the permit authority. Published agency timeframes are reference information, not the current queue or a promised construction start date.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA / OUR LAUNCH FOCUS

Starting close to home.
In the Inland Empire.

Better Pad’s initial roofing and kitchen project inquiries focus on the Inland Empire, in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Share your address or ZIP so the team can confirm project fit and contractor availability.

Riverside County

Planning a project in Riverside, Corona, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Moreno Valley, Menifee, Murrieta or Temecula? Start with the home and what you want to change.

These are examples of communities in our launch region, not a guarantee of immediate service. Other county locations can be reviewed with your inquiry.

San Bernardino County

Explore a project in San Bernardino, Fontana, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Upland, Chino, Chino Hills or Redlands.

Availability depends on the property, scope and contractor schedule. The permit directory also covers desert, mountain and unincorporated communities for reference.

A local guide before you get started.

Our roofing permit directory covers all 52 incorporated cities and towns in both counties, plus the two unincorporated county jurisdictions. Its coverage is broader than a promise of contractor availability.
